CSIR - Institute Of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh, in collaboration with Corporate Law Group, New Delhi, conducted "a symposium on "Patent Protection and Value of Innovation and R&D." There was an overwhelming response as more than 200 scientists, faculties, students and researchers participated from Chandigarh Region Innovation and Knowledge Cluster (CRIKC) institutions. Mr. Garry Bedi, Head, IPM welcomed the dignitaries and gave a brief introduction to the symposium. Dr. Anil Koul, Director, CSIR- IMTECH inaugurated the event and emphasized the value of IPR & importance of collaborative work for high-end research. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Meenu Paul of Panjab University, Chandigarh. Furthermore, the invited speakers from Corporate Law Group notably, Mr. Hrishikesh Ray Chaudhury, Dr. Nanda Elangbam, Ms. Manisha and Ms. Krishna Sarma spoke on various issues involved in IP protection and prosecution and litigation. The function concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. K.P.S. Sengar
