Area of Interest :: Computer Aided Protein Structure Prediction; Identification of Vaccine Candidates (T-Epitope prediction); Analysis of Nucleotide/Protein Sequences; Development of Web Server/Software; Creation of Public Domain Resources in Biology
Present Status :: Developing prediction methods for gene, beta-turn, secondary structure and MHC-binding sites.
Previous Assignments:: He joined IMTECH in 1986, after completing his M.Tech from IIT Delhi. He did his Ph D from Institute of Microbial Technology, Chandigarh, in Bioinformatics. Developed benchmarks for protein sequence/structure alignment techniques during his PDF at Oxford university Oxford.

   Harpreet Singh

            

Research Fellow

Area of Interest :: Rationale antigen modifications for vaccine design.
Present Status :: Development of efficient methods for predicting MHC Class-II binding peptides.
Previous Assignments :: Mr. Singh did his Masters degree in Microbiology (Hons. School) from Panjab university, Chandigarh. He joined Dr. Raghava's group after qualifying NET (National Eligibility Test) under CSIR fellowship.

   Harpreet Kaur

Area of Interest :: Beta-turn prediction in proteins.
Present Status :: BETAPRED: A beta-turn prediction web server implementing different algorithms on a single platform has been developed by her.
Previous Assignments :: She did her B.Sc. & M.Sc. (Hons School) in Biophysics from Panjab University,Chandigarh,INDIA. During her M.Sc., she worked on the conformational studies of bioactive peptides containing unusual amino acids. After that she joined Dr. Raghava's team in March 2000 in a project to develop methods for b-turn prediction in proteins.

   Biju Issac

Area of Interest :: Protein coding gene prediction and annotation.
Present Status :: FTG: A Fourier Transform based protein coding gene prediction web server hs been developed by him. He is currently working on modified version of BLAST for comparative genomics.
Previous Assignments :: Did his graduation in Zoology from Mahatma Gandhi University, in the beautiful state of Kerala. Also did his Masters in Zoology from the same University after which he joined Institute of Microbial Technology for his Ph. D and is presently working under the supervision of Dr. G. P. S. Raghava.

   Manoj Bhasin

Area of Interest :: Vaccine design.
Present Status :: Development of a comprehensive database on MHC Binding and Non-Binding Peptides along with Harpreet Singh and Amit Kush.
Previous Assignments :: He did B.Sc.(General) and M.Sc. (Biochemistry) Degree's from Kurukshetra University, Haryana, INDIA. During his summer training he learned molecular biology techniques such as PCR, Restriction digestion ,Tissue culture, SDS-PAGE, Agrose Gel Electrophoresis, HPLC, ELISA and Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis in AIIMS, N.Delhi.After that he joined Ph.D in IMTECH Chandigarh under supervision of Dr. Raghava in Feb. 2001.
