About

The primary objective of this workshop will be to impart hands-on training to ATL-In-charge, Post Graduate Teachers, Trained Graduate Teachers, etc., in the domain of Embedded systems and the Internet of Things (IoT). The workshop will help the ATL-In-charges and Teachers hone their skills in prototype & device development. Also, the workshop will assist them in nurturing the scientific temperament in the School students. The workshop will explain the basic concepts of IoT and Embedded Systems and gradually move towards developing the IoT and embedded systems-based prototypes focusing on healthcare and persons with disabilities. Further, Free & Open Source Software for device development shall be encouraged and demonstrated during the workshop.

Topics/Themes to be discussed:

Introduction of embedded system and internet of things, its basic concepts
Different types of microcontrollers and its architecture
Serial communication protocols in embedded systems
Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for programming and emulation
Types of sensors like Arduino camera, IR-sensor and analog to digital converter (ADC), and many more.
Hands on session on object detection application for persons with visual impairments.
Introduction to cloud (storage), and integration with IoT devices.
Hands-on session on transferring sensor data on cloud for analytics.
