Eligibility
General (UR) candidates with Master's Degree (M.Sc./M.Tech/M.Pharm) with minimum aggregate of 55% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent in CGPA in any branch of Science or Technology are eligible to apply. The minimum aggregate of marks in case of OBC(NCL)/SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD)/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates are 50% (without rounding off) or equivalent in CGPA. Candidates should also have a valid and tenable National-level fellowship from CSIR-UGC NET/DBT-JRF examination (‘A’ Category only)/DST-INSPIRE Fellowship/ICMR-JRF examination or equivalent fellowship like RGNF etc.
OR
General (UR) candidates with 4-year/8-semester bachelor’s degree programme with minimum 75% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent CGPA in any branch of Science or Technology are eligible to apply. The minimum marks or equivalent CGPA for OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD)/ Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates from the recognized University are 70% (without rounding off). Candidates should also have a valid and tenable National-level fellowship from CSIR-UGC NET/DBT-JRF examination (‘A’ Category only) or equivalent fellowship. B.Tech/ B.Pharm/ BE students who fulfill the condition for GATE-JRF fellowship (https://csirhrdg.res.in/Home/Index/1/Default/3522/58) are also eligible.

Industry/Institute sponsored candidates having Master’s degree in Science/Technology with minimum 55% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for General (UR) and minimum 50% marks (without rounding off) or equivalent grade for OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/ Persons with Disability (PwD)/Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates are eligible to apply. The candidate(s) must fulfil the eligibility criteria at B (Annexure-I) of ‘Important Instructions’ at admission portal of AcSIR. NOC from the current employer (Industry/Institute) is mandatory.

Project Assistants/Associates, Senior Research Fellows, or WISE fellowship holders must fulfil eligibility criteria at A (Annexure-I) of ‘Important Instructions’ at admission portal of AcSIR. NOC from current employer is mandatory.
