Dr. Anil Koul, Director, CSIR- IMTECH welcomed the dignitaries and gave a brief introduction about the distinguished speakers. Dr. Koul emphasized the value and importance of clinical pharmacology including
Eminent Speaker Dr. Manjula Singh, Deputy Director General, ICMR graced this occasion and too delivered a talk on “India TB Research Consortium: An ICMR Initiative to tackle TB in a Mission Mode”. She highlighted the contributions of the consortia to the development in TB.
Furthermore, three invited eminent speakers from Janssen, Belgium was also delivered talks on clinical pharmacology in drug development. Dr. Amarnath Sharma, VP Head, Global Clinical Pharmacology, Janssen R & D, Johnson & Johnson, Belgium was delivered a talk on “Role of Clinical Pharmacology in drug development” on this occasion. Dr. Maikel and Dr. Freya from Janssen, Belgium were explained about the development and an overview of an establishment of clinical pharmacology unit at Janssen, Belgium. Further, Dr. Freya also touched upon the risk mitigation approach during the early clinical development stage.
All the talks and question-answer session were well received. The informative session concluded with a token of appreciation to all the eminent speakers.
