Important Instructions:

1.There shall betwo roundsof interviews.

1st round of interview: 4th November, 2022; Mode: Online

2nd round of interview: 16th & 17th November, 2022 17th & 18th November 2022; Mode: In person

  • MS Teams link and time slot to attend the 1st round of online interview will be shared via email with only those candidates who will submit CV and SOP. Format of SOP has been sent via email.
  • Those who will clear first round of interview shall be invited for second round of interview. The second round of interview shall be conducted in person at CSIR-IMTECH, Chandigarh on 16th & 17th November, 2022 17th & 18th November 2022. Kindly plan your travel in advance.
  • After 1st round of interview, a list of shortlisted candidates for 2nd round of interview shall be available on institute website at https://www.imtech.res.in/events/phd-admission---jan-session-2023/284. These candidates shall also be informed by email.

2. All the candidates will be assessed for their knowledge, critical analysis and logical reasoning.

3.In case of online mode of interview, candidates shall ensure the Internet Connectivity, Web Cam & necessary software at their end to attend the interview. AcSIR/IMTECH shall not be responsible for any connectivity failure or communication faults in the Web-mode interview.

4.Candidates must send the following documents in single PDF file by email to coordinator.imt@acsir.res.in

a) Fellowship award letter/GATE/GPAT score card (whichever applicable).

b) Mark sheets of the latest examination for those Candidates who are in the final year of MSc/qualifying examination.

c) Caste/ EWS/ Physically handicapped certificates (if applicable).

d) No objection Certificate for appearing in interview and joining PhD course at CSIR-IMTECH from your employer/existing PI/institute (if applicable). Non-disclosure will lead to cancellation of PhD admission.

5.Candidates must confirm for attending the interview by sending the Curriculum Vitae (CV) and a Statement of Purpose (SOP) in word files by email to coordinator.imt@acsir.res.in immediately, not later than 31st October, 2022. These documents if sent in PDF file will not be considered.

6.The details of interview will be intimated only to those eligible candidates who will submit CV and SOP on time.

7.Since document verification process cannot be followed in the web-mode interviews, all shortlisting, selection etc. would be provisional subject to verification of all relevant documents. In case of any deficiency of any type in the documents, the candidature would automatically stand cancelled any time on finding such a deficiency.

8.Candidates eligible for DST-INSPIRE fellowship and CSIR’s JRF-GATE have been shortlisted provisionally for interview. However, admission to AcSIR-IMTECH PhD programme will be considered final only after obtaining fellowships from DST or CSIR, whichever applicable.
